The Proposal (At the hospital, after Ethan pulls the plug on Sheridan's life support)
Ethan: Theresa?
Theresa: Yes, Ethan?
Ethan: Theresa, I want you to know Ive made my decision. I'm going to a one of you to marry me before Midnight Mass. And I think at we should all be there -- the Crane family and Sheridan's friends, all there to pray for her.
Ivy: Of course, darling. We'll be there, won't we, Julian?
Julian: Oh, absolutely. I wouldn't miss it for the world. I mean --
Ethan: Well, good, then we'll see you there. I'm really sorry for what Ive put you both through.
Gwen: I just want you to be happy, Ethan. (She goes over to her mother) I've done it, Mother. I've won. I'm sure of it.
Ethan: So, Ill see you at Mass.
Theresa: Yes. I will see you in church.
(At the church, Ethan walks in and after looking at both women, sits down beside Gwen)
Theresa: He chose Gwen, Mama. He's going to ask her to marry him.

Pilar: It's for the best, Theresa.
Theresa: What am I going to do?
Theresa: (Ethan walks over to her) I hope you and Gwen will be very happy together, Ethan. Your happiness is all that
matters to me.
Ethan: Theresa, wait. You don't understand.
Theresa: Uh-uh, I do. You went to Gwen and you proposed to her.
Ethan: No. I went to Gwen because it's the honorable thing to do. It's you, Theresa. You're the one I want to spend the
rest of my life with.

Ethan: You're the only woman for me, Theresa. (He goes down on one knee) Make me the happiest man in the world
and be my wife.
